When Ron Baron recapped his history of investing, he said it was about investing in people which primarily led to his success.

Very interesting. I always feel that investors water down that idea, compared to speaking about their focus on businesses' economics.

Yes, often is the case from my experience. Except interestingly from VC investors, who solely focus on the potential and also a lot more on the founder(s). But it often gets more overlooked in the public markets when so much data is available.

Think of Steve Job's return to Apple, Bezos leading Amazon. If you spotted them as great world class leaders and risk takers, that pulls a lot of weight. The leaders also create the culture often as well
