Burford Capital reported results on August 8th before the market opened. In this article, I’ll go over the company’s financials and management’s commentary. At the end, I’ll share my take on the quarter and what I’m doing portfolio-wise.
As a first note, management efforts on Burford becoming a US domestic issuer paid off. When analyzed in June of this year, it was found that Burford had finally crossed the 50% threshold on US-based ownership and will therefore become a US domestic issuer. This will come into effect in January of next year.
